BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a non surgical FDA approved treatment that is injected directly into the muscles in specific treatment areas. Botox temporarily blocks your nerve impulses to the injected muscles, thus relaxing the muscles.

This reduces muscle activity that causes lines and wrinkles to form. After treatment, the results will keep improving for around 30 days and the results last 3 to 4 months. We recommend scheduling regular appointments to monitor results and suggest new treatments.

BOTOX® can smooth, flatten and relax: 

  • Horizontal creases on the forehead
  • Vertical creases between the eyes; known as the elevens (11s) – (the glabella area)
  • Wrinkles on the temple side of the eyes, the “crow’s feet”
  • Wrinkles on the sides of the nose, “bunny lines”
  • Wrinkles on the upper lip, pursed lips “smokers lines”
  • Vertical cords on the neck
  • And can be used to reduce calf and jaw muscles

What can I expect from a BOTOX Cosmetic procedure?

A quick and simple 10-15-minute procedure consisting of a few tiny injections where results are typically seen in days and continue to improve during the first two weeks after the treatment.

Anesthesia is rarely required, because the needles are so small. You can expect to experience very minimal and brief discomfort, even for those of us with a strong aversion to needles.

There is a small chance of slight bruising at the injection site, which is very temporary and can be easily covered with makeup.

Botox® can also be used in a variety of medical conditions, including treatment of migraine and tension headache, chronic muscular pain, facial twitching, tremors, muscle reduction (commonly jaw and calfs) and is a wonderful treatment for excessive sweating of the underarms,palms and soles of the feet.

BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM® XC are two possible ways to treat moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles. Both are non-surgical, but they work differently:

  • BOTOX® Cosmetic: Injected beneath the skin’s surface to target the underlying muscle activity which is one of the causes of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet. BOTOX®Cosmetic temporarily reduce the activity of those muscles.
  • JUVÉDERM® XC: Injected into the skin to temporarily smooth moderate to severe wrinkles such as those around the nose and mouth.
